MINISTRIES AT WILLOW CREEK

Children's Sermon/Church : Each Sunday before being dismissed for Children's Church, the young children gather at the altar for a Children's Sermon. This provides an opportunity for the small ones to hear a message about God and His love for us from the Pastor. In Children's Church, they enjoy stories, songs and other activities.

Church Camp : Willow Creek appreciates the spiritual and social benefits of children attending church camp and financially supports their participation. Adults from the church have been involved through teaching, counseling, working in the kitchen, etc.

Vacation Bible School : Since 1947 Bible School has been a part of each summer at Willow Creek. The summer-time programs offer children of the community the opportunity to hear Bible stories, sing praises to God and enjoy Christian fellowship with other children through crafts and recreation.

Helping Hearts and Hands : This outreach, organized in 2006, is focused on helping our neighbors and friends close to home. Our mission is to glorify God through satisfying the hungry and thirsty, clothing the naked, visiting the imprisoned, caring for the sick and providing shelter for those in need. (Based on Matthew 25:35-36) Requests for assistance, for self or others, may be made by dropping a form in the mailbox at church or contacting Lisa L.

Men's Fellowship : The men of the church meet for Bible study and fellowship. They have been involved in a variety of mission projects.

Cumberland Presbyterian Women's Ministries (CPWM) : Our purpose is to accept and share the love and joy of Jesus Christ through the ministry of women in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church as we pray, study God's Word, and reach out through mission, service, encouragement, and fellowship. Our mission statement: "We are women of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church committed to the ministries of prayer, study, service, and fellowship." CPWM has sold hand-dipped nutty bars at the Martinsville Agricultural Fair since 1981 and sold three editions of cookbooks to raise money for their mission projects.

Wednesday Night Willow Creatures: Our Wednesday Night Youth Group Program meets each Wednesday that schools are in session.  We meet at 6:15 for supper followed by 6:45 youth activities.  Activities are provided for all youth from Nursery through High School.

Nursing Home Ministry : Families are encouraged to adopt patients from area nursing homes.  They may visit or send cards or items through our coordinator, Carol G.  Patients names, who could benefit from added support and interaction, are  provided by the nursing homes.
